Learning Support Practitioner
Grade D Point 9-17
27.5 hrs per week from January 6th 2020
Fixed term to August 2020 due to SEN funding.
Term time only plus 2 training days.
Devonshire Infant Academy is looking for a LSP3 to work with children who have additional needs, including visual impairment.
As support staff, you will be responsible for providing individual and small group support within the classroom and designated small group areas and preparing resources to meet needs. You must have an understanding of, and experience of working with, children with special educational needs including those with Education and Health Care Plans. Experience of working with a visually impaired child would be an advantage. Training and support will be given to successful candidates.
Candidates should have the following qualities and experience:
*Minimum of NVQ level 3 relevant qualification
*Experience of working with children who have additional needs;
*The ability to use your initiative to create resources and direct learning as necessary i.e. when a child is struggling to understand, provide learning aids, appropriate materials or recover previous learning in order to move the child's learning forward.
Hours will be 8.45am -12.25pm then 1.25 – 3.15pm Monday to Friday. Plus an additional lunchtime SEN support contract of 2.5 hours per week for the successful candidate.
